Underwriting involves assessing risks and determining the terms of insurance policies, making it a critical function in the financial industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop analytical skills and gain insights into risk management, which are highly valued in many career paths. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Indianapolis, IN location.Job Responsibility
- Engage in underwriting functions pertaining to the lifecycle of a policy; including new business quoting, issuing policies, renewal processing and changes/endorsements.
- Assist in profitability initiatives through flagging accounts, adding renewal notes, and reviewing accounts to see if they meet our improvement criteria.
- Support various tasks including fixing errors made by our productivity bots, handling simple policy changes, along with other administrative duties.
Qualifications
- • Must be a current college student to qualify (rising juniors and seniors preferred).
- Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
- Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.
- College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.
