Job description: Technical WriterPERM DIRECT HIRE
Salary range: $65-80K/year
Location: Waterloo ONJob duties:
– Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and subject matter experts to prepare and finalize technical
documentation to be included with products.
– Maintain and improve technical documents according to feedback from users and sales channels
– Maintain catalog of updates and archive of historical documents
– Review marketing documents for technical accuracy and provide write ups for creative assets
– Design and create assembly/disassembly instructions and documentations
– Provide technical support and training to other departments on new product and technical specifications
– Preparing draft versions of technical literature by creating written documentation of processes and
technical information as well as proof-read them
– Work with external suppliers and translators for create full translation of technical documents in other
languages
– Design and create Application guides, Technical Data, Operating, Service, Installation, Warranty, Quick
Start Guide, Rating plates, Labels, and accessoriesRequirements:
-Two or three year college diploma (Mechanical Eng. Technician or Technologist programs) experience
will be concerned in lieu of education
– 5 years of experience in HVAC industry of North America or related field preferred
– Mechanical aptitude and problem solving mindset with hands on experience
– Proficient in written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex or abstract
theories with a firm understanding
-An intermediate understanding of relevant North American certification/standards like ASME, AFUE, CRN,
CSA etc.
-Strong base knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
