You will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring a neat and tidy facility to adhere to fire and security regulations as applicable. Furthermore, this position will schedule appointments for shipping and receiving government assets throughout the Province. You will assist with loading and offloading of items, verifying their condition, and assessing their future usefulness. You will also coordinate and report the disposal of items that have reached their end of life within the Government.Primary AccountabilitiesThe Primary accountabilities of this role are:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory listing of surplus modular system furniture and components.
  • Prepare orders from pick lists, product listings and/or drawings. Will be required to collect and stage multiple orders, and receive/ship orders as required.
  • Schedule appointments for shipping and receiving government assets throughout the Province. Assist with loading/off-loading surplus items, verifying quantity and condition.
  • Provide expert technical knowledge, skills, and training in maintaining an inventory control program for all capital assets including office furniture, system furniture, vehicles, and equipment in Government departments, boards, commissions, and agencies throughout the Province.
  • Records item movements in an inventory control program, showing description, model and serial numbers as applicable. Maintain system by posting all receipts and issues. File copies of all movements and provide an audit trail for surplus furniture and equipment.
  • Schedule arrangements for surplus vehicles, scrape waste and surplus removal.
  • Optimize and track revenue generated through a variety of surplus disposal methods.
  • Required to travel throughout the province to visit departments, warehouse, constructions sites, and instructional workshops regarding surplus disposal and relocations.

Qualifications and ExperienceAs the ideal candidate, you will require high school completion plus post-secondary training related to the position and 5 years of related experience in a warehouse setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.A professional designation/certificate in the supply chain field such as SCMP, SMT, P.Log, CCLP or PSPP is considered an asset.Knowledge of modular systems furniture specifications, plus related work experience is considered an asset.The ability to operate a forklift is a requirement of this position; an existing forklift certification is considered an asset.Travel across the province is a requirement of this position; as such, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • The ability to process a large volume of work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work safely under minimum supervision.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with AutoCAD is considered an asset
