Responsible for advising Turnpike Enterprise program area offices the attorney is assigned to work with regarding legal powers and duties, how the law affects operations, and the implementation of policies and rules.Responsible for providing legal representation in claims and litigation against and by the Department in all phases, including research, preparation of pleadings, discovery, preparation of witnesses, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial, as assigned. Responsible for providing support to Department attorneys representing the Department in claims and litigation against and by the Department, as assigned. Responsible for assisting with public records requests, information requests, and subpoenas, as assigned.Qualifying Questions will not disqualify an applicant.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of litigation and civil rules of procedure and practice and Government In the Sunshine Law. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communications. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
