SHCC has served the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as high-performing Contract Administrator for over 22 years. - Receives, reviews and responds to customer calls, emails, and letters on a wide variety of concerns, including (but not limited to): unaddressed maintenance issues, property policies, rent calculations, utility disruptions, interpersonal conflicts
- Ensures that all calls are addressed in a friendly and professional manner and that initial follow up communication occurs within specific timeframes
- Researches HUD policies and provides education and guidance to residents and owners/agents.
- Performs timely and accurate data entry
- Maintains accurate documentation for each concern and follows up with all parties until fully resolved
- Communicates clearly and concisely via phone and email with owners, agents, and HUD representatives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in residential and multi-family property management or building maintenance.
- Experience in the area of Contract Administration services pertaining to Section 8 project based housing, low income tax credit housing or federal housing programs.
- Some knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to Texas state landlord tenant law.
- Ability to express ideas in oral and written form.
- Experience in operating a phone system in a service environment.
- Some knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of private property management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public housing residents, other employees and the public, and deal effectively with situations requiring tact and diplomacy, yet firmness.
- Bondability.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Eligibility for coverage under agency fleet auto insurance.
The right candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience providing compassionate and professional customer service to a wide variety of clientele
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Experience in affordable housing or government industry is preferred, but not required.
- Strong computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Document Management System experience is a plus!)

Schedule & Salary:
- Hybrid – Work from home/office eligible
- 8 hour shift, predictable schedule
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00
- $21.30/hour with annual merit increase potential
