Job description: JOB OBJECTIVE SUMMARY:The QC Technician is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: The QC Technician primary focus will be monitoring operations to ensure that they meet production standards. Recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process. Inspecting products being produced at startup, hourly, and line clearances.

  • Conduct Product Tests and Assessment
  • Identify Product Defects

  • Support Process Improvements
  • Training employees to the QMS processes and to new job roles

The QC Technician works directly with the Quality Manager and QA Technician. Will be responsible to learn the QA Technicians role and responsibilities to be able to fill in when the QA Technician is absent. These duties include but are not limited to the following: Preparing customer documentation, such as labels, paperwork packets, and providing feedback to customer. Stay up to date on all Housekeeping and Sanitation audits, as well as filling in for internal auditors.Schedule: Monday – Friday 2:30p-11:00pPay: $17.50/hr.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of job functions.   • Working knowledge of the SQF code by keeping current with SQF code changes.
  • Involved in the production process to inspect, record, and analyze inspection data.
  • Recommend improvements in systems and equipment which will enhance product quality.
  • Assess customer feedback and prepare necessary documents required to address issue.
  • Audit production processes to ensure compliance to WI, specifications, and applicable policies.
  • Work with teams for CAPA implementation and resolution.
  • Assist in the development of inspection documentation, inspection reports, quality alerts, and other documents required for production.
  • Serve as a resource to staff by providing input and training in meeting customers’ expectations.
  • Responsible for quality control of product lines to ensure product compliance. Authority to approve or hold/reject all components and products.
  • Assist in the development of a Quality Control System, training of production staff relating to quality control and audit the quality of work in the work centers.
  • Assist in creating and implementing Quality Management System rules.
  • Help support production when time permits.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Educational / Talent Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in both verbal and written formats to meet position requirements.
  • Proficient (intermediate to advanced user level) with MS Office software, specifically Excel.
  • Obtain HACCP online certification within 90 days of being in the role and maintain the certification.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Past experience in a manufacturing quality position.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a leader and a team player.
  • Past experience with food safety procedures is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective and quick decisions for all people involved.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to bend, twist, turn, stoop, and kneel to complete job duties.
  • Ability to articulate and actively support the mission of the corporation to various audiences.
  • The ability to adhere to the requirements of P.L. 104-191 (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996) and the standards issued thereunder by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and all Hope Network and Hope Network West Michigan policies and procedures resulting there from, regarding individually identifiable health information High school diploma or GED.

Expected salary: $17.5 per hour
