They work closely with Merchandising to understand new product trends (Merchandising) and regional/climate selling, size trends, and ensures product is sent to the right Distribution Centre. The team monitors the business on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, understanding changes in trend and reacting to the business to maximize sales and mitigate risk. The priority is to understand and protect the guest experience, followed by delivering profitable sales growth.a day in the life:The Manager, Merchandise Planning partners with Global Merchandising to manage the development of the financial architecture, global category plans and supports in alignment on the Global Line Architecture (Sales, IMU, CC Targets) for Special Projects. This person manages the financial framework, strategy and targets that support departmental/divisional merchandise strategies they own. The Manager, Merchandise Planning partners with Global Merchandising to incorporate relevant regional input to build and quantify shell plans and preliminary assortments, supporting both Global and Regional seasonal strategies. They must collaborate effectively with Global and Regional Planning, Merchandising (Special Projects) Sourcing, Production and the Global Brand Team to bring the product line to life.
- Develop the financial architecture and global category plans by class, activity, franchise for all Special Projects.
- Partner with Global Merchandising and manage alignment on the Global Line Architecture.
- Accountable for the accuracy for the Merch Planning team in completing the global quantification of the assortment (vendor allocation units, GVLP units, forecast rolling 24 month Demand Plan ).
- Accountable for regional team execution of strategies and results.
- Manage cross-functional alignment around resources needed to bring product strategy to life.
- Finalize Seasonal Product Roadmap.
- Finalize Seasonal Assortment Strategy.
- Determine price architecture.
- Validate style volume targets for vendor allocation.
- Put together content for showback to CPO (include strategy, directional investment level).
qualifications:
- College certificate or University degree is required, preferably in Commerce or Business Administration
- 8-10 Years of Planning experience or progressive financial analysis and reporting experience, combination of people management and industry experience.
- Experience and proven ability in coaching, mentoring and leading a team of direct reports.
- Proven ability to work with and lead a cross functional team.
- Expert knowledge of Excel is required.
- Excellent team player as well as the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills (written & verbal) & extremely organized, thorough and able to prioritize.
- Detail orientated & analytical.
- Results oriented – strong sense of motivation.
- Self directed problem solver, proactive and resourceful.
- Capable of effective multiple demand management from a variety of sources and adapts well to change.

The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200-$156,500 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
