Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $31.38 to $36.18 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Shifts: Monday to Friday; Days, Evenings, Weekends
Status: Temporary Full-Time, 9 Months
Closing Date: September 28, 2024Position SummaryAs an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for following:Duties
- Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities; as per master worksheets
- Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
- Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system; completing all required reports and documentation
- Completing all required reports and documentation
- Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions
- Performing workload measurement support functions
- Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
Qualifications
- Completion of a two year community college Pharmacy Technician Program or recognized equivalent required
- Certification (R.Ph.T) by the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities/deadlines
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
- Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixtures service, preferred
- Membership with Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT) preferred
- Two years practical and related experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
