Job description: Job Description:We have partnered up with a leader in the construction industry for a motivated and highly skilled Payroll & Benefits Lead to manage their payroll and benefits needs across multi-regional operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced with the detailed processes of both union and non-union payroll. This exciting opportunity to join a diverse, growing team is located in Edmonton, Alberta.Responsibilities
- Execute, validate, and reconcile weekly and bi-weekly payroll periods (CDN & US Payroll)
- Guarantee the correctness and valuation of the payroll system, adherence to all relevant state, federal, and provincial legislations.
- Accountable for reconciling and submitting statutory deductions, garnishments, RSP deductions, and benefit premiums to providers.
- Take care of assorted HR-related payables, including posting all payroll entries and reconciling GL Accounts.
- Generate employment records.
- Handle provincial EHT and WCB payments.
- Quarterly and annual reconciliation of T4 information, RRSP, and benefit statements.
- Compute and prepare year to date adjustments to guarantee the accurate delivery of all T4 and T4A slips.
- Continuous enhancement and standardization of payroll procedures and systems.
- Administer and answer inquiries about Employee Benefits.
- Manage benefits for all employees, take part in the benefit renewal procedure, negotiate new plans, and manage disability.
- Act as the UKG System Administrator, resetting employee login information and maintaining data validity.
- Responsible for the payroll liability accounts and their reconciliation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full scope payroll and benefits position
- PCP or PLP designation considered a significant asset
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with multi provincial payroll
- Familiarity UKG Pro and UKG Ready (also known as Ultipro and Kronos) is considered a significant asset
- Familiarity with unionized payroll is considered a significant asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Capacity to engage with Senior Leadership
Expected salary: $85000 – 90000 per year
