Job description: Position at DNEGThe Line Producer is single handedly responsible for ensuring department task schedules are aligned in so that departments are set up to meet their targets and the client milestones/deliveries set by the Show Production Manager and Show Producer.Along with the SPM, Producer and Supervisors, Line Producers are jointly responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the project. They play a mission critical role in a Show schedule’s successful realization on the floor.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule Management:Collaborate with the Senior Production Manager (SPM) to align department schedules with client milestone dates and weekly quotas.Ensure that the schedule meets both internal and client delivery expectations.Three-Week Targets:Plan and present a schedule every Wednesday for the next three weeks, focusing on current and upcoming week targets.Communicate these targets across departments for transparency and alignment.Resource Coordination:Identify resourcing needs and potential delays.Work with the Show Production Manager and Supervisors to find workarounds, propose reassignments, and align resource availability with client delivery schedules.Department Coordination:Collaborate closely with Department Coordinators and Managers to ensure timely delivery of department assignments.Milestone Documentation:Continuously update notes and track the status of client milestones.Provide status summaries for the current week and the next three weeks based on department feedback.Show/Department Review Participation:Attend daily sessions with the Show Supervisors (VFX, DFX, CG) to relay client targets and provide feedback to Department Coordinators.Schedule Optimization:Identify critical points in the production schedule that could affect multiple shots.Manage dependencies to keep the overall production schedule on track.Task Schedules:Oversee comprehensive schedules for assets and shots, focusing on the next 3-4 weeks while maintaining an overview of tasks beyond that timeframe.Client Review Support:After client review sessions, collaborate with Supervisors and the production team to adjust notes and schedules.Provide additional support to the Producer/SPM for the bidding process and change orders.Team Mentor:Line Producers are expected to mentor coordinators, fostering a collaborative environment and empowering them to work independently while providing guidance and constructive feedback when necessary.Must HavesProven experience working as a Line Producer within a production driven environment at a VFX studioStrong vocal and written communicator.Proven experience of scheduling, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing timelines.Stellar and proven knowledge of the VFX Feature Film production pipeline, and the functions of the relevant departments within the pipeline.Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience in working with databases, such as Autodesk Shotgrid/Grid/Flow.Experience in managing artists and production coordinators.Diploma or equivalent educationAptitude for learning new software and interest in keeping up with the ever changing technological landscape.Nice to HaveHTML / Wiki/Confluence skillsPrior experience with Previs / Postvis / TechvisOnset ExperienceAbout YouPassionate about filmClear in planning with artists, supervisors and clientsOrganised and methodical in your approach to the workCalm under pressure and capable of delivering to short deadlinesA strong, clear communicator, leading teams with enthusiasmA positive, can-do attitudePlease note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement. Union dues will be required once the collective agreement is in place.The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $88,000. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level and location. An individual’s pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience. Salary ranges are modified from time to time based on external market data collected through our third-party surveys.About Us
