Job description: DescriptionTHIS POSITION MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME ONCE A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.The General Low Voltage Technician is responsible for assisting in the design, planning, managing and troubleshooting physical access control systems, low voltage cabling, electronic control panels, wireless network lighting, and security electronics for existing facilities and new construction projects. As well as assisting with changing light bulbs and ballast.Examples of DutiesInstalls, programs, tests, repairs, and services Denton County access control and emergency alert systems and equipment under supervision.Provides physical and technical support for troubleshooting and in-house installations of electronics and hardware.Coordinates project schedule on all assigned projects; proactively communicates project schedule to the Project Manager.Carries out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications, and contracts in order to assist with determining overall project requirements.Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commissions new systems, analyzes performance, and identifies malfunctions.Maintains documents and files related to completed projects and current buildings and systems.Creates and generates reports as needed.Assists with testing of life safety systems and installing security and fire system upgrades.Oversee all local and federal system testing.Regular and punctual attendance is required.Performs other related duties as required.Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required for this position and a minimum three years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.Possession of a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver’s license within 90 days.Electronic Security Association (ESA), Certified Alarm Technician (CAT) Level I equivalent (or higher), and/or Lenel Certification in electronic security systems preferred.Supplemental InformationTo ensure proper delivery of emails please add to your email safe listDenton County offers a full range of employee benefit programs for eligible employees, retirees, and their families. Expected salary: $48974 – 56810 per year
