We are looking for dynamic team members who share our passion for innovation and a commitment to creating equitable solutions that address the needs of underrepresented groups.MISSION for TEACHING ASSISTANTEDvance College seeks a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to support faculty and work directly with students in the bachelor’s degree program to join our team in the Early Childhood Studies bachelor’s degree program. In this role, the TA will work closely with faculty, directly engaging with students to support and enrich their academic journey. The Teaching Assistant will learn from the lead course instructor regarding course design, pedagogy, and student engagement. The primary purpose of this role is to provide those with a desire to teach in higher education settings with the experience, exposure, and training necessary to apply for an Adjunct Faculty position at EDvance College.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete and consistently engage in the self-paced Faculty Onboarding Canvas course
  • Observe and participate in course design and delivery in alignment with the EDvance Way and curriculum guidelines
  • Assist lead instructor with preparing course materials such as syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and multimedia presentations
  • Support students with academic and learning supports inside and outside of the classroom, including facilitating student activities.
  • Support faculty during class sessions by monitoring student participation, assisting with activities and technology, including the use of GoReact, Canvas, and other platforms
  • Observe grading practices and student academic growth processes under the guidance of the lead instructor
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and adhere to FERPA regulations
  • Participate in all Faculty Learning Community (FLC) meetings to gaining understanding of the role and impact of FLCs in faculty engagement, student engagement, and educational outcomes
  • Actively promote and advocate for justice, equity, inclusion plus belonging (JEDI+B) principles.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
  • One year experience in child development and early childhood education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Zoom, and Canvas
  • A background check (may include: employment and education verification, criminal records, civil records, professional licenses, credit and sex offender registries, as position requires). Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check and pass the criminal portion of the check may affect employment eligibility as it relates to the job specific duties listed below:
  • Access to confidential student records

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education or related field
  • Experience working with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse students
  • Strong commitment to JEDI+B approaches in higher education
  • Prior experience as a teaching assistant or working directly with young children
  • Knowledge of early childhood teaching philosophies and evidence-based practices
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings both virtually and in-person

As an EDvance College team member, you will be expected to embody these values and contribute to our community’s culture of collaboration and inclusivity.COMPENSATION$30.70 – $35.65 per hour to be determined based upon education and experience.This is not a benefits eligible position.Positions hired at 75% time or higher are eligible for EDvance College’s comprehensive benefits package (i.e., medical/dental/vision, 401k and additional peripheral benefits including but not limited to flexible spending accounts, life insurance, etc.).Eligibility for medical/dental/vision benefits begins the first day of the month following the date of hire. Eligibility for 401k plan participation begins the first of the month 60 days following the date of hire.

Expected salary: $30.7 – 35.65 per hour
