Job description: A Day In Your Life At MKS:As an Engineering/Advanced Development Intern at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS instruments Inc. you will play a key role in supporting the development of new technologies, processes, characterization equipment and products. The intern will report to a supervisor within the Engineering group and will complete tasks as outlined below during their tenue. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for growth and development through hands-on exposure to a wide range of technical activities.You Will Make An Impact By:
- Learning about and participating in the design, set up and calibration of optical and thermal characterization equipment.
- Participating in the design and implementation of experiments to evaluate and understand the characteristics of temperature sensing materials.
- Developing and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Participating in the design, simulation, part procurement, construction and validation of new test systems.
- Using statistical analysis software to analyze data and draw data-based conclusions.
Skills You Bring:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or relevant majors.
- Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details.
- Good comfort level with hardware, lab equipment and hands on troubleshooting.
- Use programming languages like Python or MATLAB to model phenomena and optimize designs.
- Software skills, for example CAD design, simulation, equipment automation, for example using LabView, Beckhoff PLC programming, etc.
- Excellent time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Compensation and Benefits:Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.
