Job description: REPORTS TO: Maintenance Shift SupervisorDEPARTMENT: MaintenanceFLSA: Non Exempt – UnionHOURLY RATE: $23.84JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the installation, adjustment, calibration, testing, fabrication, preventive maintenance, on-line troubleshooting and repair of all electronic and electromechanical systems required to maintain safe, reliable and efficient DPM operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works within procedures defined by DTC and follows approved technical methods in the installation, adjustment, calibration, testing, fabrication, preventive maintenance, on-line troubleshooting and repairs of all systems; repairs and maintains all electronic and electromechanical vehicle subsystems, all track and guideway subsystems and all facilities electromechanical subsystems.
- Implements response plans and actions for unplanned or emergency events and participates in emergency teams of Maintenance personnel of all skill types; emergency teams may evacuate the DPM, assist injured persons, put out fires and perform extensive repairs to structures, power Distribution System, SCADA and ATC Systems;
- Works independently or with assistance of other technicians to accomplish scheduled or unscheduled maintenance functions in all electromechanical areas of the DPM; performs in-depth troubleshooting into problems on electronic and electromechanical hardware systems;
- Interprets maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics and drawings, and prepares drawings or schematics to communicate with others in the performance of work;
- Functions as a Quick Response Person (QRP) and makes on-the-spot analyses of anomalous vehicles and guideway conditions as required;
- Performs all safety and functional tests of DPM vehicles and other DPM subsystems; understands system service objectives and functions as a team member to effectively obtain these objectives;
- Accounts for all materials used in performance of the maintenance effort;
- Responsible for completion of work orders in the Preventive Maintenance Control (PMC) system if needed;
- Performs tests and prepares reports as required; operates special purpose motor equipment within the Maintenance Facility and on the guideway structure (recovery vehicle); operates motor vehicle (4-wheel drive/standard transmission) with valid driver’s license;
- Attends technical and safety in-service training programs as directed;
- Recommends to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor for hardware and procedural changes that become evident during the performance of the DPM maintenance effort. Performs all other duties as assigned. Responsible for incorporating safety into all aspects of job functions;
- Responsible for relevant elements of the System Safety Program Plan and the System Security Plan.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the theory and proficiency in use of standard electronic test equipment and sophisticated test equipment, such as Memory Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Time-Domain Reflectometers, Distortion Analyzers, Bonding Meters, Digital and Analogue Meters and X-Y Plotters
- Ability to read and interpret complex circuit and techniques; in-depth knowledge of semi-conductor devices, including transistors, silicon controlled rectifiers and linear and digital integrated circuits
- Understanding of microprocessor circuits and techniques
- Knowledge and experience with materials and methods including power hand tools and basic electronic component tools
- Sufficient knowledge to ensure quality and adequacy of all electronic work assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Requires advanced vocational/technical training (minimum two year Technical school diploma) in electronic theory and principles (preferably in Power electronics, propulsion & controls, SCADA, signaling and communication)
- Minimum of two years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electronic equipment and components.
- Self-starter and be able to work with the system maintenance manuals to isolate and diagnose equipment failures under tight time constraints.
Expected salary: $23.84 per hour
