This role will be pivotal in providing insights that drive business performance, primarily focusing on retail and e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will transform data into actionable strategies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-savvy leader to influence business strategies and contribute to the company’s growth by turning data into actionable insights. A background in the Beauty, Cosmetics, Personal Care, Fashion/ Lifestyle, or CPG industries is an asset.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Director of Business Analytics will perform a diverse range of functions including but limited to:

  • Lead data integration efforts across multiple platforms, including retail portals, e-commerce systems, and internal databases (i.e. Amazon Vendor & Seller Central, Nielsen databases, etc)
  • Clean and transform raw data into organized datasets for detailed analysis and reporting.
  • Develop automated performance reports tailored to stakeholders, such as executive leadership, marketing, sales, and finance teams.
  • Design dynamic dashboards and data visualizations using tools like Power BI and Tableau to provide real-time insights.
  • Analyze sales performance and consumer data to uncover trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, market share, product performance, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Provide detailed analysis of pricing strategies, promotions, and category performance to inform decision-making.
  • Utilize consumer insights, including data from Nielsen and retailer loyalty programs, to drive recommendations on product assortments, pricing, and promotional tactics.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to refine strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Lead the evaluation of performance across retail and e-commerce platforms, optimizing sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage paid media performance, analyzing ROI and suggesting improvements for future campaigns.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data strategies align with business objectives and marketing plans.
  • Oversee the integration of shopper insights into broader sales and marketing strategies, identifying trends in consumer behavior.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market trend research, advising on strategic adjustments to stay competitive.
  • Implement and manage processes for ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality across all platforms.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize digital strategies, including e-commerce traffic, conversion rates, and customer retention.
  • Serve as the primary contact for analytics inquiries, ensuring clarity and alignment across departments.
  • Manage multiple analytics projects, balancing long-term strategic initiatives with short-term business needs.
  • Provide mentorship to junior analysts and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in business analytics or data management, ideally within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Experience with markting/ markteing analytics
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions (Power Query, PivotTables, VBA).
  • Experience using business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with consumer insights tools such as Nielsen, IRI, or retailer loyalty databases.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering performance reports, insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets from retail portals like Amazon Seller/Vendor Central, Walmart, or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, R, or Python for data analysis and model building.
  • Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, with a focus on market and consumer behavior analysis.
  • Experience with predictive analytics and building forecasting models to support business decisions.
  • Experience in implementing or optimizing analytics systems and tools within an organization.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce performance metrics and digital sales strategies.

Expected salary: $140000 per year
