Job Title: Data and Reporting AnalystEmployee Group: CUPEEmployee Type: PermanentStart Date: Monday, September 23 2024End Date (if applicable):Job Description: The Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for working with the IR team, and other College units to develop analytics and business intelligence reports, dashboards and metrics to support evidence-based decision making at the College. Primary responsibility of the position: develops, implements and delivers BI dashboards, reports and analytics that address issues, requests and business requirements, and manages the Central Data Warehouse (CDW) and BI enterprise tool. As one of the IR team members, the Business Intelligence Analyst extracts data from the College’s information systems, administers and responds to security and access issues related to BI deliverables, conducts and coordinates quality assurance testing for all metrics and BI deliverables, maintains issue tracking and resolution log and provides end user support and training related to BI, and works closely with the IR team to find the most efficient and expedient way to respond to ad hoc data and information requests and analyses.Minimum Requirements:Education& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computing science or equivalent information technology discipline.
- Four (4) years of recent related experience in business analysis, data warehousing, and the implementation of Business Intelligence tools and analytical applications.
- Additional industry training in programming languages and software development techniques (e.g. Java, SQL, Oracle, design methodology, project management) preferred.
- Direct work experience in post-secondary education data analysis would be preferred.
- Ellucian Banner experience an asset.
- Workday experience an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of development languages such as Oracle SQL/PLSQL, JSP, C++, PHP, HTML and JavaScript.
- Hands on experience with data visualization tools and BI platforms such as Tableau (preferred), PowerBI Information Builders, Qlik View, etc. and data warehouse technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge in relational database programming
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern systems analysis, programming, testing, and software implementation techniques, procedures, and methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge in software development in a Windows environment.
- Working knowledge of data analysis, data mining, data governance, data warehousing and analytics; best practices on metadata development, retention and storage; relational and dimensional modelling techniques.

- Ability to produce clear, concise, and easy to read design and specifications documentation.
- Ability to develop efficient, optimized, sustainable, well documented code.
- Ability to apply project management fundamentals to leading projects and programs.

- Be able to prepare executive level reports and presentations as needed for communication purposes.
- Provide advice and support to users on the use and operation of application systems.

- Work harmoniously with others.
- Aptitude to learn new languages, methodologies, tools and technologies for software applications and programming.
