The ideal candidate for the Communications Manager position will be primarily responsible for leading and managing all public relations activities related to our global TELUS Mental Health Index. This role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of PR strategies and campaigns. They will possess strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, including strong media relations skills and a deep understanding of public relations practices.What you’ll doManage the global TELUS Mental Health Index PR campaign, end-to-end, increasing TELUS Health’s brand awareness internationally with health, benefits, insurance, HR and business audiences.Execute best practice project management in the context of cross-functional teams including external Public Relations agencies. This will require both keen attention to detail and adept management within our from multiple teams to ensure a clear understanding of the big picture and delivery of proactive and effective communications.Gather and synthesize ideas, facilitating theme ideation sessions with internal stakeholders including social media, internal communications, People & Culture and TELUS Health’s Marketing and Research and Client Insights teams.Develop, present and implement media strategies, including embargo plans and regional media approaches that include measurable objectives.Write compelling copy, clear and concise press releases and messaging that effectively tells TELUS Health’s story to a diverse external audience.Incorporate an “always on” approach to identify health and HR trends in priority markets to assist in the development of proactive newsworthy media pitches that are relevant to the TELUS Mental Health Index campaign and generate interest for spokesperson interviews.Create and implement comprehensive workback schedules and track campaign success using tools like Google Suite and Monday.com to ensure tasks are properly assigned and executed on time and target.Manage all media interviews opportunities conducting spokesperson training and prep as needed while drafting briefs with appropriate reporter background and messaging to ensure success.Coordinate and compile comprehensive wrap reports on PR activities that align to TELUS success criteria while identifying areas for growth to inform future strategies.What you bringProven ability to collaborate with and influence diverse cross-functional teams by effectively representing the TELUS Public Relations Team.Project management expertise, with the ability to effectively engage diverse and remote teams maintaining a view of both the overall picture and the important details.Highly adaptable to rapidly-changing situations and an ability to prioritize in the heat of the moment.Ability to see the big picture and anticipate emerging issues and trends, and then tailor communications strategies and tactics to address them.Excellent writing skills and proven success with press releases, strategic plans, reports and more.Excellent relationship-building skills.Strong interpersonal, organization, prioritization and multitasking skills.Bilingualism – fluent in both English and French (other languages an asset).Required Professional Designation/Certification: An undergraduate degree in marketing or journalism or equivalent post-secondary education.Required Experience:3-5 years of corporate communications experience in a large complex corporate environment.Extensive knowledge of health information technology and consumer health environments.Agency and media experience will also be considered.Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000
