Job description: Overview:The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Utah State University seeks an individual to oversee and monitor evening student-athlete study hall for the Fall, 2024 and beyond. The Monitor will be responsible for the following:Oversee the Study Center on specified days of the week which may include Sunday from 5:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM as well as Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM. Responsibilities:
- Assure student-athletes are working on tasks, assignments etc.;
- Direct student-athletes with tutoring and mentoring appointments as necessary;
- Monitor activity in computer lab;
- Keep talking, noise, socializing among students-athletes to a minimum;
- Dismiss student-athletes from the facility as needed;
- Communicate regularly and effectively with Study Hall Supervisor and others as directed;
- Document issues and warnings appropriately.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Maturity in personality and demeanor
- Professional demeanor
- Attention to punctuality
- Ability to exert authority when necessary
- Ability to work evenings and Sundays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Previous experience interacting with student-athletes
- Working knowledge of computer basics
