3.0% Effective February 2025Under the direction of the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Chief Executive Officer; the ARMC Strategy and Business Development Officer* will provide executive leadership in the development and implementation of hospital-wide strategic planning and business development initiatives that aim to measurably improve the health and healthcare for Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and its ambulatory network – San Bernardino County’s only public safety net health system.The incumbent will act as a key advisor to the ARMC CEO, and executive leadership team and lead efforts to define and execute priority strategic initiatives, inclusive of garnering key stakeholder alignment, and driving decisions on implementation. The incumbent is expected to deliver significant value in aiding ARMC in prioritizing strategic direction based on operational efficiencies and effectiveness.The ARMC Strategy and Business Development Officer is a highly engaged leader who will be responsible for developing and implementing service line and hospital-wide strategies, fostering relationships within the community and oversee high-level special projects to promote ARMC’s strategic growth and market direction. - In partnership with ARMC’s executive team and medical staff, identify opportunities and risks for delivering service line development, growth and other services, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to ARMC’s success.
- Building & executing implementation plans for large scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Drive stakeholder and internal alignment, and ensuring implementation is proceeding on schedule and delivering the overall desired results and objectives, financial or otherwise.
- Drives cross-functional teams toward identifying key decisions for the team or stakeholders if/when necessary.
- Identify and use appropriate project management tools and concepts (scope management, planning, budget management, risk/issue management, communications management) to support strategy.
- Develop and execute work plan by setting priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Utilize benchmarking and measurements of quality assurance to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Facilitate discussions between internal departments to address operational links that ensure quality and efficiency across functional teams.
- Manage and execute Special Projects as assigned, to meet needs of an ever-changing business climate.
- Ensures execution plans are prioritized, sequenced and resourced, and brings recommendations & key choices impacting the business for decision, including laying out the business case, pros/cons and implications of each of the choices & recommendations.
- Collaborate with operational teams, medical staff and executive leadership to ensure efficient cross functional work on strategic priorities and goals.
- Participate in the process of responding to RFPs for public and private funding opportunities

Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet both the Education and Experience requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business or another relevant field is required.-AND-Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (academic medical center, complex hospital or health system, public hospital) with increasing responsibilities in strategic planning, business development, physician/practice management, payor relations, project management, and/or data analytics related experience.Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in healthcare management and meet the following job knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proven track record of implementing operational efficiencies.

- Ability to prepare presentations and speak effectively in various public forums.
- Analytical skills and judgment to solve problems with limited information at hand.
- Demonstrated project planning, oral and written communications, and presentation skills are essential.
- Demonstrated effective interaction with senior-level executives.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas to improve processes and efficiencies.
- A detailed-oriented individual with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project.
