Job description: Job Title: FPGA DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled FPGA Designer responsible for the design and development of hardware for FPGA (integrated circuits on PCB boards). The role involves designing, verifying, and validating hardware in a grey box environment. The successful candidate will test hardware, and work with the V&V team using RTL simulation to enhance accuracy and improve FPGA design and programming.Responsibilities

  • Create FPGA designs using the VHDL language
  • Simulate designs using Questa Sim
  • Utilize Xilinx design tools for synthesis, implementation, debugging, and timing closure
  • Assist the Verification Team as required
  • Generate high-quality documentation
  • Integrate library modules within a larger FPGA design
  • Verify, test, and debug hardware
  • Participate in regular design reviews
  • Present FPGA status updates at regular NPI project meetings
  • Support product sustaining operations
  • Follow departmental practices and coding guidelines
  • Provide input and support to others outside of the FPGA team
  • Contribute to the team’s knowledge by sharing lessons learned

Essential Skills

  • Experience in FPGA hardware design
  • Proficiency in reading and writing VHDL
  • Understanding of tool flow and timing closure
  • Ability to debug circuits
  • Experience in architecting small IP blocks and building larger systems
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write clear and concise documentation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in V&V (Simulation)
  • Knowledge of ASIC, analog and digital design, and digital signaling
