Job description: Connsci is seeking an experienced business development and general manager to join our growing organization as the Defense & Intelligence Portfolio Lead. This person will report to our CEO and will be tasked to grow our portfolio inside of the Department of Defense which consists of IT Services, Cyber Security, and Training.This individual will work closely with our broader business development and solutions delivery teams to drive growth and align it with strategic company objectives. This person will engage in sales activities including client engagement, client presentations/demonstrations, and identifying and responding to proposals. The individual will also work on managing our Defense portfolio of business and on the delivery of solutions to our customers. Specific areas of focus may include:Business Development:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients; understand their business needs, challenges, and goals; and provide tailored solutions.
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs, creating solution proposals, and preparing documentation.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations that effectively communicate the value proposition of Connsci and our solutions.

Client Consultation:

  • Advise clients on best practices to maximize value and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to identify business needs and recommend scalable technology solutions.
  • Leverage our Solutions Engineers and Architects to provide solutions to various proposals as well as prototypes, demonstrations, and proof of concepts (POCs) to showcase capabilities and features solutions

Solution Delivery and Operational Excellence:

  • Develop and execute a strategic delivery roadmap that aligns with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance in client delivery teams and across engagements.
  • Lead innovations that enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and secure Connsci’s competitive advantage.
  • Build and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and growth. Empower team members to contribute meaningfully to Connsci’s technology vision.

Location: This role will be able to work primarily remotely (up to 90%) but does require some office time for team meetings/collaborative initiatives as well as occasional client site visits around the DC Metro region.Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in selling or delivering technical services to customers inside of the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community
  • At least 5 years of experience working on business development initiatives to include responding to RFP’s/RFI’s
  • Bachelors’ degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • 15+ years of federal sales experience inside of the Department of Defense
  • 7+ years of leading delivery teams
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering technical solutions to include cyber security, software engineering or integration, DevOps/DevSecOps, cloud migrations, or combination thereof

Expected salary: $160000 – 190000 per year
