Job description: Spud is looking for an IT Systems Administrator! This is a hybrid position, requiring 1-2 days per week in person at our Burnaby office.As a Systems Administrator with SPUD.ca, you will be responsible for providing Systems, Network Administration, and Tier 2/3 support resolution for incidents and service requests. As part of the IT team, you will be responsible for overall IT sustainment, maintenance, and optimization within SPUD.ca and its subsidiaries. In addition, this role will be great for someone expanding their career to IT Cybersecurity initiatives and practices.Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will deliver quality technical administration for systems, networks, cybersecurity, and other technical issues. We are looking for someone who loves to be a part of the action, always changes what is “good enough”, leads with empathy, and is highly motivated.Spud is a Western Canadian online grocery delivery business comprised of a passionate team who believe that food touches every aspect of our lives, so we are advocates for sustainable farming practices, sourcing locally, treating animals humanely, and reducing food waste. We also operate our retail markets Be Fresh, Organic Acres, and Blush Lane.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Primary point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests for all infrastructure, applications, and warehouse IT equipment.
  • Maintain and Manage Windows Servers, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD.
  • Administer Network appliance, configuration, security, performance, and upgrades.
  • Perform data backups, recovery testing, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts and action or escalate as required.
  • Follow ITIL practices regarding incident, problem, and change management.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to research, analyze, and optimize successful implementation of company best practices across all functional areas.
  • Provide expert technical support via a ticketing system, remote access, and onsite as needed on Windows and Mac devices.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding process and provide user training on hardware, applications, and various network services available.
  • Assists with asset inventory, software subscriptions, and vendor relationship.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and instructional guidelines.
  • Participate on various IT initiatives and projects.
  • Additional duties as required.
  • 5+ years’ experience on administration/supporting systems, networks, and end clients.
  • Experience in system planning, security principles, and ITIL best practices.
  • Experience with Hybrid environments (Active Directory, Exchange).
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and hand-held scanners.
  • Cloud management – Office365, Exchange Online, Azure Cloud.
  • Network – hands-on experience with network products (Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Systems – managing virtualized machines, SAN and Windows Servers.
  • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Fluency in both Mac and PC environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, and possess a friendly, engaging, professional, collaborative, and team-focused attitude.
  • Insatiable curiosity, a drive for continuous improvement and automation.
  • May be required to regularly sit, walk, stand; talk and hear; both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Non-standard hours may be required in order to support business operations.
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with cybersecurity practices (Email Security, Threat Hunting, etc).
  • Cloud Management (AWS, Azure Cloud).

Expected salary: $78000 – 90000 per year
