As the Instructional Systems Architect, you will implement solutions in order to provide a consistent student experience throughout the networking and cybersecurity programs. You will be responsible for hardware and software necessary to provide virtual learning environments essential to the development of skills in networking, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.This position does have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally, but does require a strong on-campus presence and will need to travel to all three FRCC campuses.Please note: You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.SALARY: $85,000-$90,000/annuallyBENEFITS:SELECTION PROCESS: Position will remain open until filled with a priority deadline of December 2, 2024. Primary Duties

  • Continually monitor and enhance the performance, capacity, integrity, usability, and availability for an isolated, specialized computer infrastructure.
  • Respond to requests from Faculty and Instructors for assistance in the setup, configuration, and use of the servers, workstations, and networking of this instructional environment.
  • Design and configure virtualized server and networking infrastructure and related database management.
  • Research, recommend and configure hardware, software, network solutions, and business applications for this specialized environment.
  • Provide end user and application support directly related to an isolated, specialized teaching environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and mitigate security-related issues relating to the server, workstation, network, and applications contained in the environment.
  • Configure and document new implementations and approaches to service offerings.

  • System Design: Ability to design and document high-level system architecture. Understanding of system components, modules, and their interactions.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers and business analysis.
  • Security Knowledge: Understanding of security principles and the ability to design secure systems. Familiarity with encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols.
  • Accessibility Standards: Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and ensuring systems comply with these standards. Testing and validating system accessibility for users with diverse needs.

Qualifications
Required Education/Training & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer system technology or related field (experience may be substituted for formal education on a year-for-year basis)
  • At least three years professional experience in computer systems technology, business applications and/or network management with increasing responsibility.
  • Three years of professional experience in a combination of current industry technologies including at least five of the following:
  • VMware Vsphere/Vcenter administration
  • Linux system administration (desktop)
  • Windows Server administration (desktop)
  • Network experience (both physical and software-defined)
  • Network design and engineering, network design and management theory, problem analysis / troubleshooting hardware / software LAN
  • Scripting and automation experience – familiarity with Windows and Linux systems (PowerShell, Python)
  • Automated deployment, updating, and configuration management
  • TCP/IP switching, routing (virtual and physical)
  • Enterprise storage infrastructure
  • Active Directory
  • GPO Management
  • Orchestration and provisioning tools
  • Virtualization software (such as: VMWare, Citrix, Hyper-V, vSphere, vCenter, and ESX 4.x/5.x+)
  • End-point automation such as SCCM, InTune, Puppet
  • Remote access management
  • ID management concepts and applications
