Working with the management team, the Sr. Consultant is responsible for managing multiple projects within the assigned budgets and ensuring services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.Key Responsibilities:Technical Services. Provide a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients. This involves a full technical understanding of construction estimation.Calculate the measurements of specific building elements and other contract documentation for detailed and conceptual estimatesProvide benchmarking data (unit costs for buildings / unit rate analysis)Prepare complex take-offs and reports for insurance replacement costsReview and negotiate pricing for change orders to ensure accurate cost estimationsCollaborates with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare proposals/reports; develops innovative solutions to meet the client’s unique requirements; prepares and delivers high impact client presentationsTechnical Management. Conduct technical checking and quality assurance of reports produced by others to ensure the deliverables are of billable quality before issuance to clientsDirect the distribution of inputs required for the preparation of the estimates, provide advice on project task and ensure receipt of the inputs as per established deadlinesConsolidate / Review Project Cost Estimate / Cost PlanClient Relationship Management. Maintain ongoing client communication and resolve issues expeditiously. Escalate issues to next level of management as requiredSome Business Development is required.Key Requirements:Diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science or in a related field6-8 years of experience in commercial real estate cost estimation or related fieldProfessional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Construction Estimator Certified (CEC), Member RICSExcellent knowledge of Computer Estimating software (e.g. CostX) and Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication skills – interpersonal, written & verbalStrong knowledge of CIQS standard method of measurement – Elemental FormatUnderstanding of various procurement methods and schedulingAbility to prepare and complete trade/elemental complex take-offs based on preliminary design documents and tender/construction documents#LI-HybridWhat Altus Group offers:
