Minimum Starting Salary: $93,705.00; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.About the Program Planning, Development & Renewal at Humber:Program Planning, Development & Renewal (PPDR) is a centralized department with pan-institutional responsibilities. Working in partnership with the faculties, we lead program planning and development, renewal and review, and work on special projects. PPDR also administers Humber’s Academic Quality Framework. The Quality Framework is a system of interrelated processes that, through a program lens, help maintain and enhance our ability to provide optimal learning opportunities for students.About the Assistant Program Quality Consultant Role:Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Program Planning, the Educational Design Specialist leads the creation and facilitation of quality-centered educational design practices embedded in Humber’s credential programs. The position will be responsible for providing critical direction, facilitation and advice to faculty and staff on the development of educational practices and activities, including recognition of prior learning initiatives (e.g. transfer credit, pathway programs, and prior learning assessment recognition (PLAR)). This role will be the subject matter expert in holistic educational design, supporting quality enhancement and continuous improvement curricular practices regarding prior learning assessment and pathway mapping (e.g. gap analysis) with a focus on integrating AI tools.The incumbent will also be accountable for developing and operationalizing educational design training and resources institution-wide to enhance faculty Recognition of Prior Learning-Quality Assurance (RPL-QA) practices. This includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Leads key quality enhancement and continuous improvement practices regarding transfer credit assessment, pathway/block transfer gap analysis and prior learning recognition assessment (PLAR). Including, but not limited to, training sessions, resource development and ongoing maintenance of RPL-QA mechanisms.
- Leads the creation and implementation of professional learning opportunities of all faculty and staff regarding RPL quality assurance mechanisms (e.g., prior learning assessment and recognition tools etc.)
- Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) on RPL (transfer credit, pathways, prior learning assessment and recognition), counselling and advising academic Associate Deans, faculty, program coordinators and staff on RPL-QA policies, RPL curricular and assessment processes, and resources to support RPL development and design.
- Provide administrative management of RPL-QA mechanism development, including tracking progress, monitoring timelines, and reporting on the business case and deliverables.

- Extensive knowledge of the theory and practices associated with outcomes-based pedagogy inclusive of the design, development and delivery of program curriculum.
- Ability to navigate, and respond to, changing priorities.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team to complete a project/goal/task.
- Ability to anticipate challenging situations and proactively seek guidance.
- Create synergies across various units and build relationships with key stakeholders to advance RPL quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Strong background in post-secondary, outcomes-based inclusive pedagogical methodologies, practices, and principles.
- Strong report writing skills, government grant reporting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various RPL-related funding opportunities (e.g. CTIG, ONCAT) and the CAAT sector or other Canadian post-secondary institutions.
- Knowledge of various digital educational technologies, software and AI tools is preferred.
- Excellent computer software skills (especially MS Office, and data analysis programs).
