OFAM’s mission is to provide effective and efficient management of CBP’s fleet and asset resources. This includes acquiring and disposing of vehicles and equipment, maintaining and repairing fleet assets, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards and supporting operational needs through efficient asset management.This Is What You’ll DoThe Junior Process Improvement Specialist will support process improvement initiatives within the Customs and Border Protection Office of Fleet and Asset Management. This role will involve assisting with the development, implementation, and refinement of new processes, procedures, and training programs for each Integrated Services (IS) Project Management Office (PMO). This role will be responsible for working with a Process Improvement team to develop clear and concise reports and documentation to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, assists in workshop development and delivery, and communicates with stakeholders at various levels. The ideal candidate will have skills in consulting/professional services, communication (writing, formatting, and presenting), and has experience with Power Apps (Power BI, Power Automate, and/or Vizio) and SharePoint.

  • Support with the development and execution a comprehensive process improvement strategy aligned with CBP goals
  • Assist in identifying gaps between current and desired performance
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and gain buy-in for proposed solutions
  • Support by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to uncover valuable insights and inform data-driven recommendations
  • Draft standard operating procedures for client and internal work products
  • Facilitate organizational change by developing effective communication plans and training programs to ensure smooth transitions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration/Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems) or relevant field
  • 1-3 years of experience providing consulting services preferably in a government or public sector environment
  • MS Office Suite including Power Apps (Power BI, Power Automate, and/or Vizio) and basic SharePoint experience
  • Basic project management and change management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies
  • Must pass a CBP Background Investigation (BI)

Location, Compensation & Benefits
